Last weekend, I finally tackled replacing a window in our guest room. Thought it'd be straightforward, but man, the flashing part had me scratching my head. Watched a couple videos, but still ended up improvising a bit with some tape and sealant. Seems okay now, but I'm kinda paranoid about leaks down the road, you know? Has anyone else struggled with this or found a method that actually works without too much hassle?

Been there myself—flashing always seems simple until you're actually doing it. Last summer, I replaced two windows and ended up redoing the flashing twice because I wasn't confident it'd hold up. Honestly, the key for me was using a good quality flashing tape (the stretchy kind) and overlapping carefully from bottom to top. Still holding strong after some heavy rains, fingers crossed it stays that way... Did you overlap properly?
