Trying to decide between corner windows and clerestory windows for a little mid-century vibe in my living room. Corner windows seem super cool for bringing in light and making the space feel open, but clerestory ones give that classic, almost “Palm Springs” look. Anyone actually lived with either? Wondering about privacy and cleaning too—both look awesome, but I’m not sure which is more practical. What’s worked for you?

Had the same debate a couple years ago. Ended up going with clerestory windows in my living room, partly for that Palm Springs vibe you mentioned. They’re awesome for privacy—nobody can see in, but you still get all this nice daylight. Cleaning is a pain though, since they’re up high (I have to use an extendable duster thing and it’s always a bit of a circus). Corner windows do look super open, but I always wondered if it’d feel too exposed at night? Hard to beat that retro look either way.

You nailed it about cleaning clerestory windows—mine collect dust like crazy, especially during pollen season. I do love how they keep the living room private but still bright. I’ve always wondered if corner windows would mess with furniture placement though... anyone find that to be a pain?
