Alright, so I'm finally biting the bullet and replacing the ancient windows in my place. I've been leaning towards aluminum frames because they're supposed to be durable and low-maintenance, but honestly, I'm kinda lost with all the options out there. Thought I'd do a quick pollβwhat matters most to you when picking a window supplier?
- Price/value
- Quality/durability
- Customer service/reputation
- Warranty/after-sales support
Feel free to drop any recommendations or horror stories too, haha...
Honestly, warranty and after-sales support are underrated. I've seen some "quality" windows fail after a couple years, and the supplier ghosted. Curious though, are you planning to DIY install or hiring someone?
Yeah, warranty support is one of those things you don't really think about until you need it. Had a similar experience myselfβbought some windows that were supposed to be top-notch, and two winters later, condensation everywhere. Supplier was suddenly "hard to reach," go figure. If you're DIYing, props to you... I chickened out and hired someone. Either way, definitely worth checking reviews on after-sales service before pulling the trigger.
