We went with a smaller local company about 8 years ago, and honestly, zero regrets. Warranty was shorter on paper, but when we had a minor issue last year, they fixed it quickly—no hassle. Sometimes smaller outfits care more about reputation and customer service...just my two cents.

That's a fair point. I'm usually skeptical about smaller companies because I've seen some disappear overnight, leaving customers stranded. But your experience shows that when they're good, they're really good. If anyone's considering a local outfit, I'd suggest checking their track record carefully—reviews, references, how long they've been around. Sounds like you did your homework and it paid off nicely. Glad it worked out for you.

That's a valid concern, but honestly, even big brands aren't immune to issues. Had a client last year who chose a major aluminum window manufacturer thinking they'd be safer. Ended up dealing with endless delays and pretty indifferent customer service. Smaller outfits can actually be more accountable sometimes, since their reputation's on the line...but yeah, always smart to dig into reviews and history first.

Good points all around. I've had mixed luck myself:

- Big brands: usually solid products, but customer service can be hit or miss (had one drag out a warranty claim for months...ugh).
- Smaller companies: sometimes quicker to respond and more flexible, but yeah, longevity can be a gamble.

I usually check recent reviews and ask around locally before committing.
